A reader is looking for a good music app for a smartphone. He writes: “My wife and I just went from LG phones to the Galaxy edge. The LG had a free mp3 player built in with snooze. There is no built in free app in the Galaxy (Samsung milk music). Can u recommend an app that is free plays mp3 and if possible snooze or shut off.”

I’d suggest trying out the Play Music app which should actually be already installed on your phone. If not, you can get it from the Google Play Store. Samsung also usually has an app just called Music installed on their phones.
I’m going to do something a little different here. I’m going to ask our readers to suggest good, free music apps for an Android phone. In you experience, which app in the best and what features do you love?
Let us know in the comments and I’ll share your suggestions in a later article.

My favorite was Songza, loved it, but then Google bought it and it is loaded with ads–of course for a monthly fee you can go ad free. I pay for enough things so not going down that road. I like Pandora a lot too but Songza was better. Not sure what more you can do with any of these things other than listen, pick playlists etc. though.
