Today, in part 2, we have even more cost-cutting advice.

  1. Take Advantage of Free, Public WiFi

If you are connecting to public WiFi, be smart while you browse the internet. Public WiFi tends to be unencrypted which makes it easier for hackers to gain access to everything you’re doing on the internet. Keep yourself safe by using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) and making sure the websites you visit use HTTPS (which is more secure than HTTP). There are several free VPN options such as TunnelBear.

  1. Have Cable? Use a Hotspot From Your Cable Provider

If you happen to have cable television but not internet, you might be able to benefit from your cable provider’s free WiFi hotspot service. According to a report from Heavy Reading, the cable industry has launched over 17 million hotspots.
