AT & T is trying to complete the biggest media takeover ever. The communications giant has inked a deal to pay $85 billion dollars for Time Warner Entertainment. Time Warner produces movies including the DC franchise like Batman and Superman and owns CNN, TNT, and other cable channels.
AT & T is the number 2 wireless carrier in the U.S. Number one wireless company Verizon has been on a bit of a buying binge itself lately acquiring Yahoo and AOL in multi-billion dollar deals.
This doesn’t have anything to do with Time Warner cable or Internet services. It’s a completely different company. Time Warner Cable was purchased by Charter Communications earlier this year.
