Windows 10: Get Rid Of Tiles In The Start Menu

Personally, I don’t have a problem with the tiles in the Windows 10 start menu. Some of the live tiles that show weather information or tell me how many new messages I have in my inbox are kind of handy. However, I’ve heard from many of you who just don’t like them. You see them as a nasty reminder of Windows 8. So here’s how to remove them completely.

Start by opening the Windows 10 Start Menu.

Choose any of the tiles and right-click on it.

Right-click on the tile you wish to remove and select Unpin from Start from the drop-down menu.

That tile will be removed. There’s a bit of work involved in removing all of the tiles, you’ll need to repeat the procedure for every tile in the Start Menu. Here’s what your menu will look like without any tiles.

  1. I found a better and easier way to get rid of the live tiles. Download the classic shell. Install and choose the menu you would like to see. Quick and easy
