If you’ve got a young nature photographer on your hands who happens to have an iPhone, check out this super-fun and free app that encourages them to take photos and teaches them about nature.

Plum’s Photo Hunt is brought to you by PBS Kids. This app is absolutely free and works with iPhones, iPads, and iPod touch devices running iOS 6 or later.

The app assigns photo missions and then gives kids a list of things to photograph. Missions include Water, Clouds, Patterns in Nature and even Pollution or Trash.

A Photobomb feature allow kids to add cartoon characters from the PBS Plum Landing site.

The photos will then be grouped together in a photo album.

Kids can make notes about what they saw and tell the story of their photo expedition.

You can also choose to share the photos to the Plum website to share with other kids.

Plum’s Photo Hunt is available in the Apple App Store.
