Crooks have found a sneaky new way to distribute Ransomware : self-service kiosks!  The WannaCry Ransomware that paralyzed hospitals, government agencies, and companies around the world was discovered on an LG Electronics self-service kiosk in South Korea.

That led to the company temporarily shutting down the kiosk to prevent the malware from locking up the system the way it did the UK’s National Health Service’s computers.

To protect yourself from ransomware, make sure you’ve got your latest Windows security updates. The company issued updates for all systems (including systems that are no longer supported) back in May.

Be extremely careful about clicking on links in emails. Also, make sure you have all of your important information backed up externally or in the cloud. That way, if ransomware does attack your PC, you won’t lose any important information.
