If you’re on a metered network where data is at a premium, you might sometimes get a notice that you should pause OneDrive. Synching files can take up a great deal of data. Or maybe, you’ve just got a super-slow Internet connection. Fortunately, it’s super-easy to pause OneDrive.
Just find the cloud icon in the lower right of your taskbar.
Right-click and choose Pause Syncing.
Choose 2, 8, or 24 hours.
Another thing you can do if you have concerns about your connection is to click on Settings.
Choose the Network tab and you can limit the rate at which documents are uploaded or downloaded.
