I showed you earlier in the week how to run Check Disk on your hard drive. Some of you asked about running it on an external drive. I’ll explain how to do it and also show you a slightly different way to check your PC’s hard drive.
In order to check your external drive, your Windows PC will need to recognize the drive. When you open Windows Explorer and choose Computer, that drive should be displayed.
Click on the drive you wish to check and then right-click and choose Properties.
Click the Tools tab. Then select Check now.
If the disk is currently in use, you’ll need to unmount it or schedule the time for the check. You can choose to automatically fix any errors if you like.
