I heard from a reader who was frustrated because recently used programs were no longer displaying in Windows 7. I thought I’d show you how to bring them back, but you can also use this technique to prevent recently used programs from displaying for privacy reasons.
If you don’t have your Start Menu set to display recent programs, it will display as empty when you click it on the Start Menu.
To bring back Recent Items, click in a blank spot on the taskbar and select Properties.
When the Properties menu opens, click the Start Menu tab.
Tick the boxes to display recently opened programs and items and click OK.
