Can’t email photos

A reader is having an issue sending photos:

“I’m using Photo Gallery to download my pictures. In the menu bar when I go to send a picture and click on the send email icon I get this message: “There is no email program associated to perform the requested action. Please install an email program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Program Control Panel”. I’m using Thunderbird as my default email. Can you help?”

I can sure try. The issue may be that you need to set it as the default program for that app.

In Windows 10, click on Settings.

Then choose Apps.

Select Default apps.

Scroll down to the bottom and choose Set defaults by app.

Scroll down, click Thunderbird, and then choose Manage.

Make sure you’ve selected Thunderbird for every type of file association including MAPI. Click on the icon for the default program to select a new one.

Let me know if that works.
