Internet keeps disconnecting

I reader is having issues with losing his Internet connection.

“I’m using W10 with IE and Edge, my internet connection keeps disconnecting. Re-connecting is no problem. Any thoughts on why the repeat disconnects? Using cable company router and Norton Core.”

I can’t be sure what’s causing the problem, one possibility is power management.

Open your Start Menu and click on the Settings gear.


Then choose Network & Internet.


Select Change Adapter Options.


Right-click on your connection and select Properties from the drop-down menu.


Then click on Configure.


Select the Power Management tab.


Uncheck the box next to Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. Then click OK.
