Windows Snip & Sketch is a more advanced version of the old reliable Windows Snipping Tool. It’s a great way to take and customize screenshots.
To open, type Snip & Sketch in the search box and click on the results.
The app will open on this screen.
Click the file icon at the upper left to open an existing image or choose New. Then decide if you want to snip immediately or take a screenshot in 3 or 10 seconds.
This toolbar will pop up at the top of the screen.
You can choose between four types of screenshots. A rectangular tool and a freeform tool to take just the part of the screen you want or a full window or full-screen shots.
The screenshot will open in the app. Let’s take a look at your options.
Click on the finger icon to write on the image using your mouse or your finger or stylus on a touchscreen or touchpad.
You can also draw using your choice of pen, pencil, or highlighter tools.
Click on any tool to select a color or adjust the thickness of the line.
Erase your work with the eraser tool or use the ruler or protractor tool.
Choose the Crop tool and drag the square to crop your image.
You’ll find options to save, copy, and share the finished image at the upper right. Or click the three-dot menu button to print or open the image with another program.
