This tip is what I like to call an oldie but a goodie. It’s not anything new but it’s one you might not have heard about or possibly one you’ve forgotten about.
This is the quickest way to clear up space on your hard drive and get rid of junk files that you don’t need.
Start by typing disk cleanup in your search box. Click on the result.
This box will appear. If you wish to clean up a drive other than the one shown, hit the drop-down error and change the drive. Otherwise, just hit OK.
Disk cleaner will scan the disk. This shouldn’t take long.
The results will show you how much space can be freed up. In my case, quite a lot.
You can scroll down and look at your clean-up options. Tick the box next to the items you want to delete. If you aren’t sure what they are, you can select View files. Once you’ve selected the files you want to delete, choose OK.
The cleanup should take anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or two depending on the number of files cleaned up.
