I’ve had several questions lately on how to get desktop notifications for new email. Today I’ll show you how to set it up in for Gmail when you use Chrome browser.
Start by typing notifications in the search box of Windows 10 and flicking on the results.
Scroll down to Chrome notifications and turn them on.
Open up the Chrome browser and go to your Gmail inbox. Click on the gear icon at the top right.
Choose Settings from the drop-down menu.
Scroll down to Desktop notifications. You can tick the box next to New mail notifications to be notified about all incoming mail. Tick the box next to Important mail to only be notified of what you consider important email notifications.
By default, Gmail will use your past actions and their own algorithms to predict which emails are important to you. Scroll down and choose Save changes.
When messages come in, you’ll be notified by a notification at the lower-right of your screen in the notifications center.
