Mac System Overview

Want to find out what version of Mac OS you’re running or need some information about hardware or peripherals on your Apple computer? Let’s check out a quick way to check out the system.

Start by clicking on the Apple icon at the top left of your screen. Then Choose About This Mac from the drop-down menu.

Click the Overview tab and you’ll see the OS version plus the processor, memory, graphics, and serial number information. Click on Software Update to check for any needed updates.

This is where you can choose to get automatic updates for your Mac.

Click on the Advanced button to select which updates you want to install automatically.

To dive a little deeper into your system, click on System Report. Check out detailed information about your hardware, network, software, peripherals, and more.

Just click in the left column and information about your selection will display in the enter pane.
