A lovely reader submitted this site because they knew I love to knit and crochet in my spare time. After looking it over, I decided to share it with all of you because it is an awesome way for people who participate in those hobbies to do some charity work with their yarn scraps.
When you arrive at the site you’ll find the mission statement right on the front page and if you scroll down you’ll find adorable pictures of wildlife enjoying their rescue nests. How cute are the squirrels?
If you decide to register as a volunteer, you’ll get access to patterns to create the nests and be provided with instructions for both the crochet version with a video and the knit version beneath it. There’s also a link to the groups’ Facebook page where you can see even more photos of nests and other adorable knitting projects.
I always have a ton of scraps left over and never know what to do with them, but now I can make Wildlife Rescue Nests!
Once you’ve created your wildlife rescue nest, where do you send it? Well, that’s a great question! The site provides in the Mailing Addresses of Rescues section a listing of locations that accept rescue nests all over Canada, the United States, and International locations.
So all you have to do is pick the rescue you’d like to donate it to and send it off in the mail!
This is a great way to help out wildlife that have been rescued, so do your part today!
