Here’s a quick tip to keep unwanted apps from sneaking onto your PC. This is a great idea if kids or someone who isn’t too tech-savvy use the device or if you just want to make sure you don’t accidentally click on the wrong link. Start by typing Apps and features into your search box and clicking on the result.
Under Choose where to get apps, click the drop-down arrow.
If you choose The Microsoft Store only, apps from other sources won’t be able to install on your PC unless you change the setting. This can prevent malware or hijackers from worming its way onto your computer. You could also choose Anywhere, but choose to have Microsoft give you a warning first.
If you do need to install a program from anywhere else, you’ll just need to follow these steps and select Anywhere.
