Word: the printable help you’ve been waiting for

Sometimes the help you need is a lot closer than you think. Take Microsoft Word, for example. There’s a handy guide to the basics that is easy to print and it’s right there in Word.  If you have Word set to open up to the new document area when it opens, just click on the Take a tour document.

Or just click File.

Then New and select Take a tour.

You’ll open a cool, multimedia interactive document that can help teach you some of the basics of Word.

You can use this document to practice the various features of Word. When you see the red Try it text, just follow instructions.

You can then learn by doing.

This is not a very long guide, just 8 pages. But it covers the basics like spelling and grammar checking, word count, saving and sharing files, and using styles and formatting. The document is also ever-changing as Microsoft takes feedback from users.

It may not answer every possible question about Word, but it’s a great start.  Check it out and let me know what you think. I’m using Office 365, so I’ve got the latest version of Word available. I can’t vouch for this feature being available in every version of Word. But if you have it, try it out and let me know what you think.
