If you’re new to Macs or haven’t tried out Siri in theMac OS, here’s a quick guide to how you can control your Mac with just your voice.
Click the icon for Siri in the dock or press the Command key and space bar at the same time to open Siri. Unlike Siri on an iPhone, you can’t open Siri on your Mac just by speaking.

Once Siri is open, you can ask “her” a question like the weather conditions.

Or have her look up some information online for you.

Siri can even launch apps, just “Open” and the name of the app. In addition to that, you can also use Siri to turn functions like WiFi on or off.
Siri can also send a message or an email. Just say “Send a message,” select the recipient, and dictate the message. Siri can also set appointments. Just say “Set an appointment” and give the date, time, and details.

If you have a Macbook manufactured after 2018, an iMac made after 2020, or AirPod headphones, you can also say, “Hey Siri” to voice activate the assistant.
