Welcome  to History Unfolded! This site is dedicated to having users look for newspaper articles that cover events from 1933-1945 in order to uncover what ordinary people around America would have know about the Holocaust from reading their local newspaper.

When you arrive at the site, you’ll find the instructions clearly marked in the middle of the page. There are three steps: Choose an Event, Research, and Submit. If you scroll past these instructions, you’ll find the events that the site is trying to research. (You can click View All Events to see more.)

Beneath that you’ll find a map of the United States that is color-coded by how many articles have been found in each state. The darker the shade of blue the more articles that have been found there.

I am very pleased that the Help page offers step-by-step directions for getting started, explains why you need to sign up, and answers any frequently asked questions.
