Are you having a hard time making your desktop icons stay where you want them in Windows 10? Are they seemingly jumping around at will or snapping into a grid that you don’t want?
There may be a simple way to fix it. Start by right-clicking on a blank spot on your PC’s desktop and selecting View.

You’ll see an option to auto-arrange icons.

Tick that and Windows will automatically arrange your icons. If, for example, you wanted to move your Chrome icon to the middle of the desktop, you wouldn’t be able to.

The other option is to align the icons to a grid.

Choose that, and you can move icons, but they will line up at the top or the side in straight lines.

Now, I’ll uncheck both options.

I’m able to move the icon pretty much any place I want.
