Today I found out that you can browse all of Life Magazine from the 1930s through to the 1970s on Google Books.
When you arrive at the site, you’ll see a timeline of all the issues of magazine available. Start by selecting the year you’d like to browse, then click the issue you’d like to browse.
The issue will load below the timeline in the contents section. Some are just a pdf to click, others have the Table of Contents for that issue laid out, so you can click through the magazine and only look at the parts you’d like to check out.
Once you’ve select the Content you’d like to view, it opens in a normal Google Books pane. There all you must do to navigate is scroll down the page. You can also choose to use the arrows near the top of the page to flip through the content magazine page style.
This is such an amazing resource! Go see it for yourself today!
