Gmail users were hit with a worldwide outage on Saturday, December 10. The problem started around 9 am EST and left users unable to send or receive emails
Forty-five minutes later, Google updated their Workspace dashboard to report that messages were being delivered and the company was working on clearing the backlog of messages that piled up during the shutdown.
Around 1:30 pm, Google said the problem had been taken care of. They did not say what was behind the issue.
