Heartless Facebook Scam

I came across a heartless Facebook scam shared in a community group. It claims that someone has found a lost child and is accompanied by a picture of a distressed-looking toddler.

However, there is no lost child. This is just a trick scammers use to get you to boost their posts. Once the post has been shared thousands of times, they’ll change the content. Usually, they’ll add a link they want you to click. These scams often features missing children or senior citizens, found pets, or allegations of criminal activity.

When I clicked on the he profile of the person who posted, I discovered it belonged to a page that lists itself a telemarketing firm.

Clicking on Page Transparency shows that the page was created fairly recently, likely for the sole purpose of perpetrating this scam.

Be vigilant and don’t help these creeps out!
