If you use an AdBlocker on your browser, you may find that your YouTube viewing is now limited. Some YouTube users have reported a pop-up warning them that they will only be allowed to watch a limited number of videos if they don’t shut off their adblocker.

The company explains that advertising is what allows them keep YouTube free for the billions that use it and suggests that if you don’t want ads, you can pay for YouTube Premium, which costs $12 per month.

Right now, this warning is still part of a test, but expect the company to implement it globally sometime soon. They experienced a year to year drop in ad revenue and have seen success with growing subscriptions to their premium services.
