How to Spot Unknown Trackers

Tracking devices can be super-handy ways to keep track of your property, pets, or kids but it can be pretty scary if someone unknowingly plants one on you to keep track of your activities. Here’s how you can make sure your Android phone can detect unknown trackers.

Now, an unknown tracker could be one that someone has planted on you or your property, or it could just be that someone has lost one. Thanks to the latest Android updates, it’s easy to get an alert about unknown trackers.

Start by opening Settings on your phone and scrolling down to and tapping on Safety & Emergency.

Scroll down to Unknown Tracker Alerts.

Make sure unknown tracker alerts is turned on. You can also run a manual scan to trackers.

When you get an unknown tracker alert, tap the notification to learn where the device has traveled with you, and then hit Play Sound. The device will give off a sound, and you’ll be able to locate it.

If someone has recently borrowed an item and you think there’s a possibility they accidentally left it behind, you may want to contact them. Otherwise, you’ll want to head to local law enforcement and report the incident.
