A reader wants help with a Facebook hacker. “My FB is hacked n someone sending friend request on my name, Can you help me? I have unistalled that Facebook, but it’s hacked.”
First, let us figure out if your account was actually hacked or cloned. If the ‘hacker’ sent friend requests to people who are already your friends, then they do not have access to your account. You cannot send friend requests to current friends.
The scammer has screenshot your photo and borrowed your name to create a fake account and send out requests. These fake accounts are usually for the purpose of scamming your friends out of money or stealing their information.
If you can still access your Facebook account, it’s unlikely it’s been compromised. Here’s how to check to find out if any friend requests have been sent from your account. Go to your Facebook page and click on Friends.

Choose Friend Requests.

Then click on View sent requests.

You’ll be able to tell if any friend requests have been sent by your account recently. The same holds true for messages. If you look in your Messenger and don’t see the conversations the scammer started, it’s not coming from your account.

If you do see activity on your account, you can change the password. If crooks have taken over your account, report it immediately to Facebook. Don’t just start a new account.
