America’s Best and Worse Crime Cities

Are you thinking of moving in the near future to a metropolitan area? Or are you curious how your city ranks? Well then you definitely might want to check out this site. To find the complete list you’ll notice a little link on the first page that says “Complete List” with Check out the methodology underneath it. This will give you all the statistical information.

To see which cities ranked best and worst for crime merely scroll downward.

The top two cities on the best (large cities) list were:

Nassau-Suffolk, NY: the second-lowest overall crime rate in the nation, thanks to extremely low violent and property crime rates

Middlesex-Somerset-Hunterdon, NJ: one of the lowest murder rates in the nation.

You’ll notice that it is denoted by city size. So it goes from Large to Medium to Small and the same is true for the cities with the worst crime rate.

The worst tow cities on the large cities list were:

Tucson, AZ: one of the highest property crime rates in the country, especially larceny. On the bright side, Tucson has a low murder rate.

Memphis, TN-AR-MS: Residents of Memphis contend with the nation’s second-highest violent crime rate. In addition, the rate of robbery and burglary are among the nation’s highest.

Where does your city rank?

Other neat things about the main site if you are looking to move in the near future is the “Cost of Living Salary Calculator”. You put in where you live now, and how much your salary is and then you put in where you’re moving to and it calculates the difference between the two.

For example, I would like to move New Orleans, LA. If I put my information in and it does its calculation, I find that it would be 7.5 % cheaper for me to live in New Orleans. Isn’t that handy?
