National Wildlife Federation's Photo Contest

National Wildlife Federation’s Photo Contest

One thing that I really enjoy while surfing the Internet is finding really great photographs. I hit the treasure chest with these gems. Every year the National Wildlife Federation holds a photo contest. This is their 35th annual contest and it brings you a lot of awesome photos.

Navigation is easy. Just scroll down the page. What will you find? Well, for starters, you will find 15 of the best photos they have received. I definitely have some favorites! I really loved the first picture of the owl, the brown bear, the swift fox and the two blackbucks fighting.

Each photo has text under it that tells you who shot the photograph, what type of camera they used and how they stumbled across the subject of their photograph. Some of them are really amazing and interesting. Could you imagine having the presence of mind to snap a photograph as a huge owl was swooping down at you?

With over 4,000 photos submitted to them this year, they really did manage to find some winners. Though I can’t imagine being able to decide who won if all the photos were as neat as the ones shown on here.

If you want to see more of the entries, scroll back up to the top of the page and under the main navigation tabs, you’ll find a red/burgundy colored area with a link to the Photo Zone (I couldn’t find it at first, because when someone tells me to look at the top of the page, I look at the very top and was confused because it wasn’t there. Then my eyes zoomed in on it and I thought to myself, duh! There it is). Here you can not only check out the entries for 2005, you can also check out the winners and submissions from previous years.

Be prepared for some excellent photos!
