California Coastal Records Project

Our coastlines are slowly changing with each beat of the waves against them. Erosion over time is changing them forever. The project that this site talks about is to take images of the coastline before nature and man change them entirely. To find out more about the project, check out the About the Project link.

There are some really amazing photos of the coastline here and that is why I couldn’t wait to share this site with you. If you like scandal, you can check out the section about the Streisand Lawsuit. It was fairly interesting.

Now, how can you look at pictures of the coast? Well, it’s really easy. If you’ve clicked on any of the links and are no longer on the home page, you will need to click on the Home link. Once you’re on the home page, you can click the Look up a Location button, which allows you to select a location by clicking on the outline of California’s coast. The place you click is the area you will see pictures of. Neat, huh?

If you know the longitude and latitude you are looking for, you can search that way too. You can even search by location. Just use the drop down box and pick a place to see it.

Each photo you see will give you the longitude and latitude of that location. There will also be a photo caption and the date when the image was taken.

So, go and start exploring the coastline of California now!
