Quick “Flipping” Through Your Presentation
I’ve noticed that many users of MS PowerPoint always seem to use the scroll bar to move from slide to slide while editing in the Normal view.
It’s not a bad way to work and PowerPoint will even update you as to which slide you’re at while you scroll through the presentation.
But, what if you’re not sure exactly which slide you need?
Then it’s a matter of trying to move one slide at a time, but that can be a bit of a pain using the scroll bar, can’t it?
So, now what?
If you’re not zoomed in on the slides to more than 100 percent and like using the mouse for this type of work, the arrows at the top and bottom of the scroll bar will move you from one slide to the next.
However, if you do tend to work while zoomed into the slides, the scroll bar arrows will only move you through part of a slide. So, you ask “now what”? again.
You could try the Previous Slide / Next Slide buttons located below the scroll bar.
These buttons will definitely move you one slide in either direction, regardless of the zoom factor.
Now, for those of you who prefer to use the keyboard, all you need to remember is Page Up and Page Down. (The up and down arrows will work only if no objects on the slide are selected).
Yep, that’s right, those two little keys will move you through your presentation slide by slide and once again, the zoom factor is not taken into account with this method.
Whatever your preference, you too can quickly slide-by-slide flip through your presentation for browsing and editing!
