myLot Community
With blogging becoming a pastime for all, it has grown from just a few Web sites to hundreds of blogging forums. In fact, the word “blogger” is a real term now, not just some word invented from a computer geek! No, the word blogger is even an official job title now, just like typist, writer, etc. There are a plethora of sites allowing people to blog and they are sprouting up all over the place. One of the latest blog communities to come about is myLot.com and that’s exactly what I’m going to discuss today!
For those of you who may still be wondering what a blog is all about, allow me to explain it a little bit. Basically, a blog is just like keeping a diary of events. The only difference is it’s all conducted on the Web. Usually, blogs are accounted by date of occurrences in a certain person’s habitual life. So, obviously, blogs have been around for centuries. I mean, diaries have been a pastime since the cavemen etched words onto stone slabs, so it makes sense. People have always loved showing a chronological account of their lives and blogging is the digital explosion of that need.
myLot describes their blogging site as being “a whole new way.” Blogging should always be an experience with diversity. Sharing experiences with others should always be fun. Each member of myLot is given a certain amount of Web space to build a personalized Web page for their blogs. This is a great aspect of having a personalized Web page and it’s a little different than some of the other social sites like MySpace. Even more, on myLot, there is no spam floating around waiting to infect your hard drive. Now, that is a huge plus point, don’t you think?!
myLot has even more to offer than that as well! There are myriads of discussion groups on just about every known subject too. Once you’re a member, you can even create your own personalized subject discussion. Perhaps your interest of choice is movie reviews or even politics. No matter what, you can either join an existing discussion on the subject or create a new one. Or, maybe news stories around the world are of interest to you. If so, myLot hosts the latest news across the globe. Additionally, those new sites are segregated into news pieces of interest, rather than generalized news stories on worldly issues only.
One aspect of blogging that has become a flourishing subject is the ability to earn some money. If someone throws out an opportunity to make extra money, most people jump at the offer. Well, blog contributions on myLot offer this modern method of pulling in the green stuff. Of course, not everyone is blogging for cash, but there are many people actually making a packet of money purely from blogging. If a few dollars or more is needed, why not give it a shot, right? All that is needed is a PayPal account and the payments will be transferred once the minimum balance of $10 is exceeded. Payment is based on the quality and popularity of your posts to discussions and blogs. You can find out more information about this on myLot’s Web site.
One of the major reasons why sites like myLot work is the ability to find and communicate with friends. Both MySpace and Facebook offer great stead here. However, the sheer simple style of myLot far exceeds the basic Web page feel that is accomplished by a basic personalized Web address.
mylot gives great searching power to the member as well. Finding articles, photos or discussions is very simple and accomplished quickly. For personalized discussions, the user can further aid navigation to that discussion group by adding what are called “tags.” Tags are keywords related to the discussion context and they help the search engine to locate the discussion subject being sought.
It’s sometimes nice to know how active the past month has been during blogs as well. With myLot, a rating in your member account states a figure that shows how active your blogs have been over a period of time. That is, how many people are reading your material.
Now, despite everything else, there is one sure thing when it comes to a blogging site. Blogging is so much fun and it allows you so much free expression in an otherwise tight lipped world. myLot joins the free revolution that has become digital freedom of speech in great style. Now, go on and enjoy your blogging experience!
