Just Released: Opera 9.26

I’ve got great news yet again for all you Opera lovers out there! I know it’s only been a couple months since the last version was released, but the Opera team noticed some problems and they fixed them right away. And that’s why we’ve all been graced with a brand new version! Yep, on February 20, 2008, Opera 9.26 was released and it is now available for download. So, if you’re an avid Opera user, keep reading for all the details behind this new version and for instructions on how to get it for yourself today!

First of all, the Opera company made it very clear that this new version is a recommended security and stability update that you should download as soon as possible. With that said, let’s talk about some of the changes that have been made. It looks like three major issues were fixed, including one that dealt with text inputs and arbitrary files. There was also a problem within the image properties and another with cross-site scripting. If you want to know more, you can read through Opera’s advisories for those issues right here.

Along with those, a couple stability issues were also taken care of. One of those had to do with a secure connection to any server that supports the TLS Certificate Status extension, which included Windows Server 2008. Even more, that problem has actually been around since version 9.0, so it’s really great that they finally got it fixed. A few other stability issues were fixed as well. So, whenever you’re ready to download Opera 9.26, just head on over to this Web site, choose your preferred language and click on the Download Opera button. You’ll then be well on your way to a new and improved Opera Web browser. Oh yeah!
