Extensive Advice on Working as a Community to Save Energy
While this Web site is based in the UK, it contains some very practical advice that can transcend borders. It has a side menu for navigation and you can find featured articles on the main page. While I was visiting, some of the featured articles were about battery power, hydro electric power and understanding power distribution.
Each of the following categories on the side menu have a menu that slides out when you scroll over the title of the category.
Community Projects – This section discusses all of the different projects your community can do together to help conserve energy. My favorite has to be the Community Gardens section. With ideas like community composting, solar power and education opportunities, you can’t go wrong!
Energy Sources – Here you’ll learn all about the different kinds of energy sources we have access to. For example, solar, wind and ground source.
Getting Organized – This section teaches you how to get your community organized. It includes advice on how to best educate people, how to get the green message across and how to plan projects.
Resource Efficiency – Here you’ll learn about saving resources. This section includes articles on gray water recycling, rain water collecting, reducing carbon emissions and reducing community food miles.
Saving Energy – Here you’ll find excellent tips on saving energy, including ideas about insulation, water pipes and tanks and cost savings. You’re sure to learn about something you can implement into your own home.
Self Help Ideas – This section contains articles about how you can help yourself with energy savings.
There’s also a free monthly newsletter you can sign up for that will keep you updated on when new things are added to the site, as well as, delivering the latest energy information. Enjoy!
