How To Resize Windows 8 Taskbar

The taskbar on Windows 8 is about twice the size of Windows 7,  how can I change it?  Thanks

Good news Hugh, this will only take a few seconds! Right- click on the taskbar and make sure to uncheck  Lock taskbar.

Now, align your mouse pointer at the top edge of the taskbar until it turns into a double arrow. Then you can drag it up or down to re-size the taskbar.

When you get it the size you prefer, make sure to right-click and lock the taskbar.
