Getting spam is annoying, but luckily most of it ends up in Spam or Junk mailboxes. But what if you are getting nasty emails from an actual person, like a harasser? I’ve been harassed by someone, so I know from experience how dreadful it is. Well, I have some good news for you – if you use Yahoo Mail or Outlook.com (Hotmail), you can easily block offending email addresses, so that whoever is harassing you won’t be able to email you again.
Let’s have a look at how it’s done in Yahoo Mail.
The first thing you need to do is log in to your Yahoo Mail account. You will see a link saying Options on the upper right-hand side of the screen. Click on that and select Mail Options:
Now click on Blocked Addresses in the left-hand menu. It’s the first option under Advanced Options:
Now all you need to do is type in the offender’s email address and click on the “+” sign. The address will be added to the list of your blocked email addresses.
Yahoo allows you to block up to 500 email addresses.
And now let’s see how the same is done in Outlook.com.
Again, you will obviously need to log in to your Outlook.com mailbox. When you are there, click on the Options icon and then go to More email settings:
You will see a category called Preventing junk emails. Click on the Safe and blocked senders link:
Now click on Blocked senders
Now all you need to do is type the offending email address in the Blocked email address or domain field and click on Add to list:
You won’t be getting any emails from that email address anymore. And if the harasser starts bombarding you from a different address, you can always block it too.

I use Yahoo email, and I know from experience that in blocking someone’s emails to you, you also need to remove their email address from your contacts list. If you don’t, the emails will still come through.
