I UPGRADED TO IE 10 AND I AM FRUSTRATED WITH THE POP UPS HOW DO I STOP THEM? THANK YOU FOR ALL THE INFO IN YOUR NEWSLETTERS.
Edward, it sounds like those pop-ups are really aggravating you. Here’s how to turn on the pop-up blocker in Internet Explorer 10.
You’ll want to click the little gear symbol to the far right and select Internet Options from the drop-down menu.
The Internet Options window will open and you’ll want to select the Privacy tab.
Put a check in the box next to Turn on Pop-up blocker.
If you’d like to set it so that pop-ups are allowed from some sites, click the Settings button.
You’ll see options to control pop-up permissions.
Under Exceptions, you can choose sites where you want to see pop-ups – this might be sites where you play games or need to fill out forms.
You can choose to have either a visual or an audio notification when a pop-up is blocked.
From the Blocking level drop-down you can select whether you want a high, medium or low level of pop-up blocking.
Hopefully these changes will end your frustrations.
