The Ferrari of Space Crashes

How could I not share an article with you about the “Ferrari of Space” crashing and burning as it re-entered the Earth’s atmosphere?

Sometime in October the Gravity Field and Steady-State Ocean Circulation Explorer(GOCE) ran out of fuel, starting a brutal countdown to its ultimate demise in Earth’s atmosphere.

Originally I clicked on the article because of the artist’s rendering of the GOCE came up on my Facebook dashboard, I think from Science Dump. I had to know what it was, and am happy I did because this article is full of cool information about the GOCE and its mission, as well as where it reentered the atmosphere and finally crashed.

Navigation was really easy, just scroll past that awesome artist’s rendering of GOCE and read the article to find out all sorts of nifty things that make my space geek heart skip a beat in excitement.

Well, what are you waiting for? Go learn about the GOCE satellite today!
