There’s a nifty little app called Smart Magnifier that uses your Smartphone’s camera as a magnifying glass.  You can find it in the Google Play Store and it’s absolutely free. Just tap to purchase and install.

When you open it the screen looks like this:

Yep, that’s an ad at the top. It’s the price you pay for the “free ap.”  Let’s check out the controls. Line the object you wish to magnify with your phone’s camera.

You can autofocus by tapping either the screen or the autofocus image.

You can zoom in or out by tapping the + or – icons, moving the slider bar or pinching zooming the image on your touchscreen.

 Tapping the sun icon will shine light on your object and the snowflake or freeze icon will take a screenshot of the object you’re magnifying.

To switch to magnify view.

You can use this app to magnify objects and also for reading fine print. Give it a try.
