Surface Pro 2- Right-Click Without A Mouse?

I recently purchased a Surface Pro 2. Is there any way to right click WITHOUT a mouse? Is there a user manual available for Surface Pro 2?

As far as user manuals go, you’re pretty much out of luck for the Surface Pro or most electronics these days. Your best bet would be to head over to Microsoft.com and check out their Surface support area at this link http://www.microsoft.com/surface/en-us/support/

If you are looking for guides, you’ll have to pay for one.  I did find a Surface for Dummies guide for $25 available in bookstores. I feel your pain, I’m a Surface owner myself and I had to figure out a lot of things on my own, both to assist myself and to answer questions from readers.

I do have better news about the right-click option. Press and hold the item that you’d usually right-click with a mouse. You’ll see a little square form around it. Press and hold can require a little while to master if you aren’t used to touchscreens. One quick tap will just open the item as usual.

Lift up your finger and the right-click menu with all of its options will be visible.

Also, if you have the detachable keyboard for the surface you just tap the lower right portion of the touch pad.  Good for you for mastering the touch screen, I find I use my surface more like a laptop than a tablet, which is kind of  a shame, since it’s a really nice tablet.

Hope this tip helps.

P.S. Do you own a Surface or other Windows 8 or 8.1 tablet? What do you think of it? Let us know in the comments.
