Why Does My Laptop Blink?

Please tell me why my laptop which is a HP has a blinking lite on the bottom left. Even when its shut down. there are 3 lights there one is power, the second is a lightning symbol and the third is the hard drive. the lightning symbol is the one that blinks night and day. Please help.

 That little light with the lightning symbol indicates battery power and it should only blink while the battery is charging and is at a low power level.  If it’s blinking all the time, there may be an issue with the battery.

Try disconnecting the power cord, removing the battery and holding the power button down for about 30 seconds. Then replace the battery, plug in the laptop and plug it back in.

If that doesn’t stop the constant blinking, unplug the power cord and turn off the computer. Press the Esc key immediately when it boots up and select F2 System Diagnostics. Then choose Battery Test from the menu.

  Plug in the power cord and choose Start Battery Test. The test will let you know if the issue is with your battery.

Batteries grow weaker with age and it’s possible that yours has lost its capacity to fully recharge. If the issue is with your battery, you’ll need to replace it.
