Microsoft Pulls Another Update

In what seems to be turning into a regular occurrence, Microsoft is pulling another problematic update. This update only affects Windows 7 users. There are reports that the KB3004394 update may prevent users from installing new updates and also prevent drivers from installing.

Android Increases Smartphone Market Share

Android phones came on strong in the third quarter of 2014, accounting for 83.1 percent of the more  than 30 million phones sold worldwide.  Apple accounted for 12.7% of the worldwide market, while Windows  Phones were down year-to-year to 3% and Blackberry sales fell by more than half to account for less than 1% of the phones out there.

The major growth came in inexpensive Android phones. Samsung was the top manufacturer with 25%  with  Apple at almost 13% fueled by sales of the iPhone 6.

 

Is WhatsApp coming to PC?

WhatsApp, the popular smartphone and tablet app that lets users message each other all over the world for free, may be coming to your PC. Facebook paid an astounding $19 billion dollars for the app back in February and there’s been a lot of speculation about what they planned to do with it.

Now reports say you can expect the app to become a truly cross-platform system that would allow you to take messages on your phone, tablet or PC.

  1. The “In The News” is helpful and informative. I’m puzzled, though, because KB3004394 shows in my update history but not the installed updates! How can that be and what can I do to remove it?
