Good news for the those running the technical preview of Windows 10. Microsoft’s Gabriel Aul says they will be able to upgrade that version to the RTM (Release to manufacturing version) when it’s available at no charge.
Users of Windows 7 and Windows 8 will also be eligible to upgrade for free within the first year after Window 10 launches late this summer.
Microsoft has never allowed those running previews to upgrade to the full system before and they haven’t said yet whether or not upgrading from the Windows 10 Technical Preview will mean the users have a full Microsoft License.

Great Windows 10 coverage, interesting that the RTM may not include a full license. Keep us posted, please, as I am sure you are in line for the RTM update.
I am still running Windows Vista. I have been waiting for Windows 10. Do you think I will be able to upgrade for free also?
The free upgrade will be for Windows 7 & 8, and 8.1 only.
Windows 10 may be an upgrade from Windows 8.1, but it is a downgrade from W7 and XP.
Actually, if you use 7, I think you will find 10 very familiar.
