Welcome to the National Archive’s collection of Ansel Adams photographs.

These photographs were commissioned for a photo mural at the Department of the Interior Building in Washington, D.C. The theme was nature as represented by the U.S. National Parks.

When you arrive at the site you’ll find a great introductory paragraph of information that lists all sites where Ansel Adams took photos in order to create this photo mural.

After reading that you’ll scroll down the page to where the collection starts. It is organized by location and you’ll click the titles of each piece to load the image. You may want to right click the links for the photos, and select open in a new tab if you don’t want to use your back button to go back to the collection listing.

This is an amazing collection of photography. I’m so happy I was able to share it with all of you!
