Evernote On Your PC: This Great App Isn’t Only For Smartphones

Evernote is a great, free app that lets you organize your life and work. What’s even better is that you can get it for your  computer, tablet or phone.

To get the app for your phone or tablet, just go to the app store and type in Evernote.  For this tip, I’m going to show you how to create an account using your PC.

On your desktop, double-click the icon of the browser of your choice. In this case, I am  going to use “Google Chrome.”

Type “evernote.com” in the address bar or just click here.

Type in your email address and a password in the provided boxes. Then, click on the “SIGN UP FOR FREE” button. You now have an Evernote account.

You’  see the web application of Evernote. At the bottom left of the page, you will see a small circle with a letter inside. Click it.

A list of options will appear. Click “Log out.”

Now it’s time to download Evernote. In the address bar, type “evernote.com/download” or click here.  You’ll be taken to the download page. The download for the installer should automatically start. Click Save file.

If it doesn’t start automatically, follow the instructions on the page to click and start the download.

After the download is completed, click on the three horizontal lines icon found on the top right of the browser and select “Downloads.” (This step may differ depending on the browser you chose). Or just go to the Downloads folder in File Explorer.

Click on the evernote.exe program.

If a “User Account Control” window pops up, click “Yes.” The Setup program will appear. Check the “I accept the terms in the License Agreement” box and then click “Install.

Evernote will now install on your PC.

Once it is finished, click “Finish.”

The program will automatically start. Otherwise, go to your desktop and double-click the “Evernote” icon.

Type in the details that you used when you created your Evernote account in the provided boxes. (both your email and your password). Click “Sign In.”
