You are on-the-go in your Pokemon Go game. You catch that rare Pokemon and see that satisfying “Gotcha” confirmation that it’s yours. Then tech happens and your device freezes! What do you do?
Stop. Breathe. Take control of your tech with the following steps:
When the game freezes, access your devices setting menu (a.k.a. control center for iOS) to turn ON Airplane Mode.
Navigate to the Pokemon Go game then close it. Standby until you get a “lost connection” notice from your device.
Restart the game.
Turn OFF Airplane Mode. Check to see if you’ve retained your newly captured Pokemon.
Pokemon Goers should also check out Amanda’s feature on the Trainer’s Advanced Tactics Handbook (http://www.worldstart.com/the-pokemon-go-trainers-advanced-tactics-handbook/). Happy hunting!

If you get the “Gotcha” message you got it. but if the ball just freezes and stops flashing the little red light it will be a miss most likely. Check your inventory. If you see a silhouette instead of the number it was a missed attempt but don’t worry when you restart the game and walk 2 kilometers. (1 and a half miles) and return to that spot you will get another chance. My game hasn’t locked up since the last update so take heart! It takes patience to “Catch ’em All”.
