The Better Business Bureau gave us a heads up about two new Internet scams that you’ll want to watch out for.
The first involves a fake insurance cancellation notice. It appears to come from your state’s insurance commission and warns that all of your insurance policies have been cancelled. Don’t click on any links in emails like this. That’s not how insurance companies handle policies.
If you really think there’s a problem with your insurance, contact your insurance company, but not through any numbers of web addresses listed in this type of email.
The second scam involves a crook offering to help people set up their own Internet business reselling items on Amazon. This will cost you $395 and also involve a monthly maintenance fee. Don’t fall for it. As the commercial says, “That’s not how any of this works.”
