Yesterday, I introduced you the concept of graphics tablets and looked at the features available in the lower-priced models. Today, we’ll check out the features in more expensive models and look at whether one of these devices would work for you.
Higher Range
If you’re a little more serious about your art , you can purchase something a little more advanced. Tablets in this range can go from low-hundreds to low thousands, depending on a multitude of factors
As for what they offer, they come in a variety of styles. Some of the lower-cost tablets in this range are simply larger and more feature-heavy versions of the low-range tablets. The further up the range you go, the more you see, such as the ability for the tablet to display what you’re drawing. You can get variants that are smaller representations on the main screen, all the way to full-sized monitors you can draw on.
Again, you’ll need to check the specifications of the tablet first, but some include the ability to use the other end of the stylus as an eraser, as if you were physically rubbing out the drawing. Some may come with a multitouch feature, allowing you to pinch-zoom on the canvas you’re drawing on. This makes them a great tool for those who want to take their digital art a little more seriously than most.
Would I Find One Useful?
So will you get much use out of a graphics tablet?
Even for the low-priced tablets, you’ll still need to have an interest in digital art to get much use out of one. But even if you’re a little curious about digital art, an inexpensive tablet will serve you very well. It’s probably best not to look at the higher- priced ones for now; just try out digital art. Wait to see if you re4ally get into it. Then you can upgrade to a more powerful one and maybe sell your lower-priced model.
Given the wide range of high-range tablets, from upgraded basic tablets all the to full-blown monitors, you can pick and choose depending on both your needs and your budget. Do you just want a larger space to draw on? Do you want to be able to see the canvas on the tablet as you draw? Are you willing to shell out a little more and get both? It’s up to you.
