This website is digital effort to bring together and preserve the history of the Carlise Indian School from physical archives across the globe. They’ve created a comprehensive, searchable database of the Carlisle Indian School resources.
When you arrive at the site, you’ll find a brief introduction to the database, recent news, and updates. On the left side of the page, you’ll find a navigation menu that will connect you to the contents of the database. You’ll find Student Files, Images, Publications, Documents, Lists & Rosters, and Additional Features.
I suggest heading over to the Mission page before you start searching. It explains some of the history behind the school and the goals for this project. After learning more about the school and the project, I suggest checking out the section that interests you the most. I headed over to the Student Files section because I wanted to see what kinds of records the school kept. After that, I checked out the Images section to see what kinds of images they had in their files.
This is an amazing resource! Go check it out today!
