A reader has a problem: My wife has an HP laptop computer (G60530US Notebook) which she installed windows 10 from windows7. She decided she didn’t like windows 10 and tried to uninstall it. All she gets now is a screen saying: STARTUP REPAIR Startup repair couldn’t repair your PC Press “Advanced options” to try other options to repair your PC or “shut down” to turn off your PC. Log file D:|WINDOWS\Systems32\logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt. She has tried these options and they all loop back to the mentioned screen. One option stated she could default back to the factory settings but would lose all apps and programs, but could save personal files. At this point, she would settle for windows 10 or 7. Is there anything she can do have tried Windows, rebooting, and f keys nothing changes.
Sounds like your wife tried to uninstall Windows 10 instead of using the option to go back to Windows 7 that was offered for 30 days from the time of installation. Her best bet at this point would be to choose the reset option and save her personal files. She will need to reinstall any program that isn’t part of Windows 10 when she’s done.
